Episode 5 - Stroke beyond the acute phase

Strokes are the leading cause of adult acquired disability and the second leading cause of dementia. The sequelae can be very diverse and severely affect mobility, cognitive function and speech, among others. We will meet Antonio, who had a stroke on 3 June 2020 and arrived at the Guttmann Barcelona Institute for Brain Health and Neurorehabilitation unable to move or speak. Together with Montse, his wife, and the rehabilitation team that treated him, we will see what challenges people face after a stroke and what the day-to-day rehabilitation treatment is like.
