For me, the Institut Guttmann is a “place of rebirth”. A place where you get support and specialist help to start living your life again!
In February 2011 I had a serious traffic accident that caused a head injury. After weeks in an induced coma, I learned to live in my body again thanks to the Institut Guttmann. In just 3 months there I went back to walking, eating, controlling my bladder and bowels, thinking, communicating, regulating my emotions... all basic functions you need to lead an independent life with support from outside. The Institut Guttmann provided the foundations of my neurorehabilitation and I still continue to receive their support and help in this new way of living.
