Guttmann approves its first Action Plan for equality and non-discrimination of LGBTIQ+ people

The document establishes actions to guarantee an inclusive and discrimination-free work and care environment, with training measures, awareness campaigns, and action protocols.

The Fundació Institut Guttmann has approved its first Action Plan for Equality and Non-Discrimination of LGBTQ+ People, a document that reinforces the organization's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and respect for the rights of all people.

The Plan, approved on March 2nd, 2026, by the Joint Negotiating Committee made up of representatives from management and staff, establishes the Foundation's framework for action to guarantee a work and care environment free from discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

The document is the result of a work process initiated in 2025 that included a participatory assessment of the organization's situation, with the participation of professionals, allowing for the identification of strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement in terms of inclusion and coexistence.

The Plan defines several strategic lines of action, including the development of protocols for addressing situations of discrimination, training and awareness-raising for staff on sexual and gender diversity, the promotion of an inclusive organizational culture, and specific attention to the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals.

With a four-year term, the Plan also establishes a Monitoring Committee responsible for overseeing its implementation and evaluating the impact of the measures adopted.

With this initiative, the Fundació Institut Guttmann reaffirms its commitment to building a professional and care environment based on respect, dignity, and equal opportunities for all people, making it one of the first healthcare institutions in Catalonia to have a plan of this kind.
