Two patients of the Institut Guttmann spent two fantastic days doing activities in the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.

A rafting descent through the Noguera Pallaresa, a recognition of the fauna and flora of the environment with guides of the Natural Park and a night of astronomy in the Guingueta d'Àneu with the company Obaga, have been some of the activities that they were able to enjoy.

This outing was proposed and funded by the High Pyrenees Accessible Activities Program which aims to explore the different activities available in the area and ensure that everyone can enjoy the Park. Our visit has served to share ideas and experiences and collaborate to find ways to improve accessibility to the Park so that, in the future, the Institut Guttmann can return with more patients.

Outings such as this aim to transfer, in a real, sustainable and ecological environment, the learning and skills acquired by patients during the rehabilitation process in the hospital; enhancing functional autonomy, confidence in one’s own abilities, and thus experiencing an independent living model and sharing with others in the same situation, reflections, healthy living habits and encouraging greater social participation.
