Neurotechnology applied to Re-Habilitation at the XXXVII Institut Guttmann Technical Symposia

At a time when technology is advancing at an accelerated pace, the application of neurotechnology to neurorehabilitation stands out as one of the most promising —and necessary— transformations in the healthcare field. New tools such as non-invasive brain stimulation, artificial intelligence, brain-machine interfaces, and robotics are beginning to redefine the way we approach the treatment of people with neurological injuries.
This will be the central theme of the XXXVII Institut Guttmann Technical Symposia, which will take place this year on October 30th at CosmoCaixa Barcelona, under the title Re-Moving Minds. Neurotechnology Applied to Re-Habilitation.
The program includes an opening lecture by Prof. Armin Curt from the University of Zurich on the future of neurotechnology in rehabilitation, and will feature top international speakers such as Ursula Hofstoetter, José María Azorín, Núria Alegret, José Luis Pons, and Elena García-Armada, along with Guttmann professionals.
Throughout the day, topics such as electrical neuromodulation, non-invasive brain stimulation, brain-machine interfaces, spinal cord-targeted nanotechnology, intelligent robotics, and movement analysis will be addressed.
The day will conclude with a lecture by Dr. Josep Maria Martorell, former associate director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and current board member of the Institut Guttmann Foundation, and with the institutional participation of Núria Montserrat, Minister of Research of the Government of Catalonia.
Registration is now open. Take advantage of the early bird rate until September 30th.
This conference is one of the highlighted activities of the 60th anniversary of the Institut Guttmann and aims to be a space for reflection, knowledge and connection between professionals in healthcare and technology.
