KH Lloreda promotes adapted sports at the Institute Guttmann with a solidarity donation
The company KH Lloreda has made a generous donation for the purchase of 10 sports wheelchairs and sports equipment (rackets, balls, nets, rubbers, etc.) to support the physical activities of our patients.
Last Friday, a group of workers from the company visited the Neurorehabilitation Hospital. First, in the assembly hall they had the opportunity to learn about who we are and what we do, and to listen to the moving testimony of Ricard, a former patient, who shared how sport was key in his recovery.
The meeting continued at the sports center, where the donation of the wheelchairs and equipment was officially presented, and then an inclusive sports gymkhana took place, led by the physical education specialists, in which patients and workers from KH Lloreda practiced fitness, basketball, pickleball, korfball and adapted tennis. The activity ended with a snack full of emotions, thanks and the commitment to continue promoting sport as a tool for rehabilitation and inclusion.
This initiative aligns with the commitment of the Guttmann Institute Foundation to the 2030 Agenda and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, reinforcing SDG 3: Health and Well-being, SDG 10: Reduction of Inequalities and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as well as articles 30 and 26 of the Convention, which recognize the right to participation in cultural, recreational, leisure and sporting life, and the importance of rehabilitation and social inclusion.
Thank you, KH Lloreda, for helping us build a healthier, more inclusive and accessible future possible for everyone, and for sharing the values that drive our mission.
