To mark the 60th anniversary of the Institut Guttmann Neurorehabilitation Hospital, we were honored today with a visit from the Right Honorable Salvador Illa, President of the Government of Catalonia, who wished to join in the celebration of this significant milestone.
The President, accompanied by the Honorable Ms. Olga Pané, Minister of Health, was received by Ms. Sonia Egea, Deputy Mayor of Badalona; Ms. Núria Basi, Chair of the Foundation's Board of Trustees; and the co-directors of the Institut Guttmann, Dr. Montserrat Bernabeu and Ms. Montse Caldés.
During his address to patients, families, professionals, and other members of the Board of Trustees, President Illa emphasized the Institut Guttmann "unique leadership," as well as its social commitment and defense of human rights, stating that these values "guide our path forward as a society. With talent, knowledge, innovation, research, and a commitment to social transformation."
The visit concluded with an official toast with all those present to celebrate the Institut Guttmann 60-year history and recognize the trajectory and dedication to public service that have defined us since 1965.
