Badalona City Council hosts a reception for the Institut Guttmann on the occasion of its 60th anniversary

The event began with the intervention of Sonia Egea, fourth deputy mayor and councilor for Public Health, who welcomed the attendees and expressed the city's recognition of the institution's long-standing contribution. Afterwards, the president of the Board of Trustees of the Fundació Institut Guttmann, Núria Basi, spoke a few words of gratitude and presented the mayor with a commemorative piece of the 60th anniversary, which symbolizes the recognition individuals and organisations that have played a key role in the history and evolution of the Institut Guttmann.

During her speech, Núria Basi highlighted: “Receiving this recognition today makes us proud, but above all it commits us. It commits us to continue innovating, to continue researching, to keep alive the vocation of humanity that inspired us sixty years ago. And it also commits us to continue working side by side with Badalona.”

For his part, the mayor of Badalona, ​​Xavier García Albiol, highlighted that “you are a source of pride for the city and a reference point everywhere”, highlighting the contribution of the Institut Guttmann to the prestige and projection of Badalona both national and international levels. The event concluded with the donation of a commemorative plaque to the Neurorehabilitation Hospital as a sign of gratitude and recognition from the city for its work over these sixty years.

The event was attended by councillors from the city council, members of the Board of Trustees of the Fundació Institut Guttmann, professionals from the Steering Committee, as well as volunteers and monitors from the Game Over program, in an atmosphere of recognition and shared celebration.
