A Institut Guttmann research project has been selected in the latest edition of La Marató de TV3, held in December 2021 and dedicated to mental health.

The selected teams received their awards at a ceremony held on 3 November. The project awarded is "Non-invasive home-based brain stimulation to treat treatment-resistant depression: feasibility, efficacy and biomarkers of treatment response", led by Institut Guttmann researcher Gabriele Cattaneo and BBHI principal investigator and professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences of the UB David Bartrés-Faz. An amount of 12,147,989 euros were raised and have been distributed among 36 research projects.

One in four people will have a mental health problem in their lifetime. For this reason, the 2021 edition of La Marató was dedicated to mental health. A total of 150 projects were submitted to the call, which were evaluated by 111 international scientists and followed criteria of quality and methodology, scientific, health and social relevance, and innovative and transformative value, among other aspects.
