La Seu Vella of Lleida has been the scene of the 18th edition ASPID Awards Ceremony for social integration of people with disabilities, organized by the Association of Paraplegics and Physically Handicapped of Lleida (ASPID) which it was chaired by the Minister of Enterprise and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Felip Puig.
 
This year, ASPID, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Institut Guttmann gave us the  “Extraordinary Award” in recognition of our trajectory. Dr. Josep M. Ramirez, managing director of the Institut Guttmann, stressed during his speech the important work carried out by associations of people with disabilities as ASPID, which also is part of the Social Council and Participation of the hospital, "because without the work of organizations like ASPID, that make people have a positive attitude towards life, our rehabilitation work would be only a technical job."
