Guttmann Institute received Albert Llovera, who is a rally driver ex-patient of the hospital. He has become as an example of overcoming and of challenging limits because of all achievements he has got during his sportive career. The last one is to succeed in finishing 2016 Dakar Rally.

Albert addressed a speech to hospital patients and their families, in which he shared his vital experience in Dakar, especially focusing on all difficulties he had to face after each stage, when bivouacking and going on wheelchair. After that, at the outside facilities of Guttmann Institute he exhibited the truck he drove in Dakar this year and showed mechanical solutions that implemented for its adaptation as well as the spectacular way in which he got into and out the truck. Some patients dared to enjoy the experience of getting into the truck, with Guttmann professionals help.

Albert Llovera demonstrates that ones’ attitude is decisive in overcoming difficult circumstances. This was the fourth time he had participated in the Dakar. However, the first one he had done it on a truck of 9.000kg weight.
