L’Institut Guttmann ha publicat ja el número 93 de la revista Sobre Ruedas, sobre neurorrehabilitació i vida amb diversitat funcional, i que en aquesta edició centra els seus articles principals en la neurociència i la neuroètica. El tema, que va ser el protagonista de les darreres Jornades Tècniques de l’Institut Guttmann, al 2016, planteja l’autonomia personal com un dret, i la complexitat de com preservar-lo en persones amb afectacions cognitives i conductuals. Bioètica, apoderament i vida independent són alguns dels temes analitzats.
Ms. Zhang Haidi, chairwoman of the Federation of the Disabled of China, President of the Paralympic Committee of China, and President of the Organizing Committee of the Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2022 visited on May 20th the Institut Guttmann. Ms. Haidi came accompanied by a delegation head of the Committee of Internationalization of the Federation of the Disabled of China and by Dr. Josep A. Pujante, Director of the International Department of Health.
With the aim of seeing how the activities carried out with robots help and stimulate the therapeutic advances of patients with a neurological disability, the Institut Guttmann organizes with the Garbí Pere Vergés School of Badalona, the 1st Working Day of Robotics and Technology.
This Sunday, May 14, a group of patients, former patients, relatives and professionals of the Institut Guttmann participated with Sports & Life Guttman Club in the 33ª edition of "The Mile" of the Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona. In addition to enjoying a great morning of sport and having a good time in this popular race, they showed that people with disabilities can practice sports in an inclusive way.
Since 1985 the Claror Foundation has organized this athletic race of 1,609metres, considered as a sporting, playful and social event in the city of Barcelona.
The Institut Guttmann is at HEALTHIO these days, the exhibition about Patients, Innovation and Health, that is taking place in Fira de Barcelona. The event is a new initiative that has interactive activities organized by specific areas for innovation in the health sector, and is still today and tomorrow.
The Institut Guttmann not only has institutional presence with its own stand, but is also present with the research project Barcelona Health Initiative and with GuttmannNeuroPersonalTrainer ®, a cognitive program.
The XXIX Institut Guttmann Technical Symposia took place on 20th April at the ONCE Auditorium in Barcelona, under the title "Neuropsychology and school: Modeling the brain."
The development of executive functions in children and youth in the school environment, as well as rehabilitation neuropsychology applied in cases of children and youth with special difficulties, were the main issues discussed during this scientific event.
Last Sunday, March 12, the Zurich Marathon of Barcelona, a challenge of 42km along the streets of the city, was celebrated once again. A group of professionals from the Institut Guttmann joined it for representing the inclusion and helping two children of pediatric rehabilitation to achieve the challenge.

Ramírez, director of the Institut Guttmann; Jordi Portabella, director of the Research and Knowledge Area of the Obra Social “la Caixa”; Álvaro Pascual-Leone, scientific director of the project and Antoni Andreu, Health Research director of the Generalitat de Catalunya have presented today the Barcelona Brain Health Initiative (BBHI) at the Institut Guttmann.
On Saturday 25th February almost 30 people, ex patients and families, enjoyed a sunny day in the snow, accompanied by a professional of the Institut Guttmann and monitors of the activity.
With different technical aids, depending of individual capacities, all participants were allowed to ski and permit the benefits of the sport practice in the natural surroundings. Adapted sports have become a powerful therapeutic tool to improve health, the degree of functional autonomy and the self-esteem.
