With the slogan "Do not stop, today we save lives", the Mayor of Badalona city and the sports journalist Manu Sánchez gave the start of the first "Ponle Freno" race of the year 2019 that was celebrated for the first time in a city of Catalonia.
On the occasion of the World Day of Rare Diseases, also called minority, the Institut Guttmann in collaboration with the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol have celebrated one more year its Seminar on Rare Neuromuscular Diseases to explain part of what is being done in regarding the care of these patients.
The welcome was in charge of representatives of the Institut Guttmann and Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, accompanied by Dr. Cristina Nadal, representing CatSalut, and Mrs. Teresa González, First Deputy Mayor of the Badalona City Council.
This Tuesday, February 19, the presentation of the book "El cerebro que cura" took place in the new Guttmann Barcelona center, with the participation of the authors Álvaro Pascual-Leone of the University of Harvard and David Bartrés-Faz of the University of Barcelona.
This weekend the new Guttmann Barcelona has opened its doors to more than 1,500 people who have wanted to know the modern facilities and the activity that will take place there. Saturday and Sunday more than 40 professionals from the Institut Guttmann Foundation have been offering talks, workshops and experiences for adults and children in an informative and entertaining way to bring society and the neighborhood closer to work in neurosciences, brain health, and promotion of the independent life.
Last Thursday and thanks to the FC Barcelona Foundation, the youngest members of the Institut Guttmann, children rehabilitation patients accompanied by their parents and relatives, were able to enjoy the traditional open-door training of the first FC Barcelona football team at the Mini Estadi .
All of them could see their idols closer than ever, and they could go down to the grass, where they took pictures with the players. It was a very emotional moment!
Once again, the Christmas parties have just begun in the Badalona hospital and they have done it in a very special way, with a fun circus of stunts and humor!
On the afternoon of this Thursday, December 20th, we celebrated Christmas both with the adult and children patients, that accompanied by their families, enjoyed a spectacle by the Circ Vermut, chocolate, and many gifts for the little ones.
Coinciding with the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Institut Guttmann Foundation, the director in Catalonia of the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR), Ms. Eva Subirà, delivered the AENOR SR-0104-ES and IQNet SR10 certifications to the Institut Guttmann in recognition of its socially responsible management.
A multidisciplinary team from the Institut Guttmann, formed by a doctor, a neuropsychologist, a physiotherapist and a nurse, has traveled to Jamaica under the Rights of Way project, promoted by the Abertis Foundation and Unicef. This project is developing prevention programs for damage to minors in road accidents in developing countries.
El proyecto de investigación para la Salud Cerebral del Institut Guttmann en colaboración con la Obra Social La Caixa continúa avanzando y profundizando en la investigación. El Comité de Asesores Científicos del proyecto se reunió el pasado miércoles en el Institut Guttmann con el equipo de trabajo para discutir sobre la metodología y la evolución del estudio de salud cerebral en la fase actual.
