A group of fifteen children who are undergoing after-school children's rehabilitation at Institut Guttmann attended the FC Barcelona - Almería match on Wednesday, 8 April and had the opportunity to have their photos taken with the Barca players on the pitch at Camp Nou just before the game.
Yesterday the 37th edition of the El Corte Inglés race was launched at a press conference, which this year will support Institut Guttmann, coinciding with the celebration of our 50th anniversary. El Corte Inglés has chosen our organisation as an Associated Social Entity, supporting not only our anniversary but also in recognition of our history.
Ms Paula Wilson, President and CEO of the Joint Commission International and Joint Commission Resources, has visited the Institut Guttmann as one of the centres accredited by the JCI in order to get to know the institution and keep track of how the centres with this accreditation implement international standards governed by this organisation.
This year's Christmas holidays have been special for paediatric patients of the Institut Guttmann with a variety of special activities organised specifically for them. In particular, a few days ago, the children who are currently in rehabilitation in our hospital participated in an adapted ski session in the Catalan ski resort La Molina. The activity was conducted by the physical education instructors of our hospital, led by Álex Castan.
Various events aimed at patients, former patients, children and adults have been conducted in our hospital to celebrate Christmas.
The Christmas season is always special, and even more so when you are admitted to a hospital or in the middle of a process of rehabilitation. This year again, at the Institut Guttmann we have wanted these dates to be special for our patients and former patients, children and adults, who are or have been users of the spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury specialised rehabilitation services that we offer in our hospital.
