In the recreation room there is a computer with internet connection for shared use.

Laundry

The washing of patients’ personal clothing is usually the responsibility of family and friends. However, in cases where it is required, the Institut Guttmann has a laundry area on floor -1, with a coin-operated washer and dryer, available for use from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. There is also an outside laundry service for which the nurses will provide more information upon request

Hairdressing

There is the possibility of booking a hairdressing appointment. Located on floor -1, it is available from Monday to Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. except holidays. You can consult the price list.

Shop

On floor 0, near the entrance, there is a shop where newspapers, books, gifts and materials of different types can be found. It is open mornings and afternoons on business days and mornings only on Sundays and public holidays.

Entertainment service

An entertainment service offers leisure and fitness activities to hospital patients and their families. The activities take place in a room reserved for this purpose, from Monday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In addition to all the scheduled activities in the Entertainment Room, there is a variety of board games and other entertainment available to all.

To celebrate a party, whether a birthday or any other, or to prepare some other activity, the nurse will contact the person concerned and the manager of the Entertainment Service.

Volunteer service

A volunteer service is responsible for helping patients, when necessary, in performing leisure and cultural activities, conversation and company, during the day when treatment is not taking place.

To learn about existing possibilities, you will need to speak with the social work team, in order to provide the proper support in each case.

Religious service

The hospital has a Reflection Space, intended for meditation, prayer and religious service. Religious, ideological and cultural beliefs of the patient will be respected, provided their exercise does not conflict with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, current law and the rights of third parties, and provided it is respectful of normal operation of the Centre. The Reflection Space is both for people receiving treatment in the hospital and for their family and friends, and a minister of a particular religious group may be requested by asking the nurses.

Public transportation

For environmental reasons, the Institut Guttmann recommends public transportation for travel. There is a bus service that stops in front of the hospital and links with various points in Badalona and Barcelona, RENFE, metro and buses. There is a taxi stand near the hospital and it is possible to call one from the hospital reception desk.

Parking

The hospital has a private car park, free for those accessing the premises with their own vehicle. You must respect the spaces reserved for ambulances and for private cars with a Blue Badge (people with disabilities).

In cases in which the private car park is full, there is another public, free access car park located next to the hospital grounds. The Institut Guttmann will not be responsible under any circumstances for physical or material damage that may arise from the use of this external parking.
