As stated in the Ethical Code, Institute Guttmann, “It will adopt a pro-active approach to the protection of the environment. It will make rational use of non-renewable energies and water as a scarce good. It will seek to avoid the use of polluting products or devices, and it will scrupulously operate perilous residues and other dangerous materials with strict adherence to applicable regulations.”
The Total Quality model is based on the following premise. "Customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and a positive impact in society is achieved throughout leadership in policy and strategy, a successful management of the human resources, an efficient use of the equipments and facilities and an adequate definition of the processes, which will end up leading to an organizational excellence and optimizing business results."
With this purpose, Institut Guttmann promotes a total quality policy with the engagement of all individual contributors, in order to drive the organization towards excellence and the best effective completion of its institutional objectives.
As a reference hospital, one of the objectives in our Total Quality policy is to ensure that all decisions related to activities and processes are friendly to environment. Respect to and commitment with this is one of our main goals.
For this reason, the Managing Director establishes the following Environmental policy:
| • The Managing Director is committed to establish and define the Environmental Management System. |
| • Enforce laws and other requirements related to environment. |
| • Prevent pollution by implementing best practices of environmental management. |
| • Assign proper process owners. |
| • Schedule periodic coordination meetings. |
| • Establish measurable objectives and programs subject to continuous improvement actions and activities that are economically affordable. |
| • Establish metrics to evaluate performance and make continuous improvement. |
| • Promote actions aimed at environmental awareness. |
| • Deploy a proper waste collection, informing to all participants accordingly. |
| • Rationalize the use of natural resources within the facilities. |
| • Ensure the deployment of the environmental policy to all participants throughout communication channels. |
